Thursday 27th February marked an unforgettable day for Crowland. For the first time ever, the pupils of Crowland were surprised with a visit from Tottenham Hotspur’s  very own Toby Alderweireld as part of the Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition. Toby took part in several ambition-themed activities and games and read out lines of poetry about his life and career, while the children guessed whether these were true or false.

Alderweireld said, “I really enjoyed being part of the lesson and talking to the kids about ambition, believing in yourself and working towards your goals.”

We must give a huge shout out and thank you to our P.E. leader, Ms Nafisa Jeewanjee-Gilkes, who organised the visit. She told the club’s official website,  “It was just amazing to see the kids’ reactions to Toby – one of our girls was crying, she was so excited. Toby’s words on ambition inspired them to produce some really creative work and they’re already asking when they can write more poetry.”
