Raising Money for St Joseph’s Hospice

Mr Winnard will be running the London Marathon 2017 to raise money for St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney. To help him raise as much as he can we will be holding weekly cake sales. Each week, a different year group will be in charge of bringing in delicious cakes to be sold after school.

This week, Nursery and Reception managed to raise £110! Next week Year 1 we be holding their cake sale. Can we raise even more money?

A message from Mr Winnard.

“This year I have decided to run the London Marathon to help raise funds for St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney,  where my wonderful mother-in-law frequently visits for long periods of time, due to her illness.
St Joseph’s Hospice is a charity that relies heavily on the generosity of the public to help raise funds for the running costs. The hospice cares for people affected by serious illness. They help to improve the quality of life for people with life-limiting conditions or terminal illness, and help them live life to the full, to the very end.

The hospice offers both my wife and mother-in-law a wide range of services including free relaxation sessions and provide invaluable support when needed. The staff there are incredible; always encouraging a positive outlook on life and helping patients and family to feel at home and comforted throughout their darkest times. The care and attention they give to her is the reason I am doing this.

So… please, please, please help me raise as much as possible for this charity. Just 50 pounds will pay for bereavement counselling for families who have lost their loved ones.

It’s a privilege to run for such a great charity. On behalf of all my family, a HUGE thank you to St Joseph’s and to the people supporting me by helping to raise the funds.”
