Budgie

Ms McKay and Ms Samworth work in Budgie class.

Amazing Animals

In Early Years, this spring term, we have all been learning about AMAZING ANIMALS! In Nursery we have been reading lots of books about animals, especially ‘Dear Zoo’, ‘Hooray for Fish’ , ‘Farmer Duck’ and ‘Rosie’s Walk’.
We’ve had lots of different role play opportunities including:  a zoo, deep-sea diving and a farm. We’ve also tried to milk our ‘farm cow’.
On Friday 27 January we began the celebrations for Chinese New Year:  we dressed in red, made cards and drums too.  We also tried using chopsticks to pick up noodles before helping to chop up the vegetables that went into our noodle stir-fry that we cooked.
We’ve been very lucky to have some eggs in our classroom this week that have now hatched into chicks!  We are loving watching them grow!
This has been an exciting term in Budgie Class.

Exploring and Learning

Budgie have had a great start to the year. They learnt the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen then went on their very own bear hunt around the school! The children have also enjoyed exploring the outdoor area and creating self portraits and masks.
