About Friends of Crowland

All parents, carers, guardians and staff are automatically members of Friends of Crowland (FROC) and are welcome to attend meetings. Please don’t be shy; we would love to see you there.

We are passionate about our school and helping the children be the best they can be. Over the years we have helped raise money to help the school in numerous ways. Thanks to the huge effort from children, parents and staff we were able to raise funds towards the new reading scheme challenge. We have also been able to contribute towards each class purchasing an iPad. We are very proud of the results.

Essentially the money we raise is spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and facilities at school; however, FROC is much more than just fund raising. FROC is an excellent way to bring staff and parents together socially in support of the school also it is great fun!

Getting involved

All parents can get involved even if you have a small amount of time. You may be interested in a formal role such as Chair, Treasurer or Secretary or want to participate in smaller events that take place throughout the year. For example, organising school fairs, cake bake sales, selling raffle tickets, school gardening project or cinema nights, Not all event takes place on a regular basis so even if you have half an hour to spare there are many jobs that can be done to help support FROC and the school.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and opportunities but we usually raise money through events and initiatives. Currently, we organise the Summer Fair, Christmas Fete, Cake bake sales and Christmas cards designed by the children. If you have any further suggestions please email us at friendsofcrowlandpta@gmail.com please include your details so we can acknowledge your contribution.

Easy Fundraising

The FROC have an account set up with the Easy Fundraising. This is literally an easy way to fund raise simply by shopping online at over 2, 700 retailers. Register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk and follow the steps. Make sure you join the Friends of Crowland Primary School.

There are 2 ways to shop – when online shopping, go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk first then click through to the store you’re looking for or download the easy fundraising app and it will prompt you to activate the donations when you enter the website of a retailer affiliated with easy fundraising. Retailers include Debenhams, Next, Argos, Apple Store, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Boots and many more. Money from your purchase is turned into a donation for the school and no extra cost to yourself!

FROC News

We are extremely pleased with another successful year. This year we have had the pleasure of working with the school to launch the gardening club. Children, parents and teachers had a fun afternoon of gardening and over the year have watched these plants and flowers grow.

We launched the Uniform Recycling Scheme. This allows parents and carers to donate previously worn uniform in good condition to be sold on at discounted prices. We had such a positive response and many items have found a new home.

We had a tremendous time at the Summer Fair this year, and with the help of our parent volunteers of FROC  and teachers raised £1700.

This is a snap shot of what we do in the Friends of Crowland, and if you would like to get involved in any of these events or have a fantastic idea please either speak to one of us or email us. Together everyone achieves more!
