We hope that you enjoyed a restful break and are looking forward to 2019 as much as the staff about the adventures which await in 2019! So far it has been a fantastic start to the year.
100% Attendance Winners
Before the Christmas break we awarded children with 100% attendance. 10 of these children were selected to visit the stunning Sky Garden on January 11th. The children described the trip as ‘peaceful’, ‘beautiful’, ‘amazing’ and ‘really fun’. One of the children said: ‘I found it really interesting, especially when I saw landmarks like Buckingham Palace and the Shard from high up.”
Please aim for 100% attendance so your child has the opportunity to enjoy an exciting adventure.
There have been some important changes around the school this year. On the first day back we launched our new CARE values with a rotation day of events. Everyone enjoyed a range of activities that focused on the importance of each of the vaules. This included using enthusiasm to create an exciting adverts about boring everyday items, co-operation to untangle themselves from a giant human knot and celebrating their achievements after playing a variety of games.
Please have a discussion about how Cooperation, Achievement, Respect and Enthusiasm have a positive impact on their lives, both in school and at home.
Lastly, we have managed to secure funding from the National Schools Breakfast Programme. Every day bagels will be available for children to enjoy in the Key Stage 1 and 2 playgrounds from 8:40-8:50 to help ensure they are provided with the fuel to learn! More details are available from www.magicbreakfast.com .
It would be fantastic if parents and carers volunteered to help distribute the bagels to the children in the playground. Please see Mr. Campbell or Mr. Winnard if you are able to donate your time.
